I'm watching a show on history channel, and I was wondering--Assuming for conversation's sake that there have been UFO crashes, what reasons would governments have to keep the evidence and/or information from the people?

The assumption seems to be that even with all the science fiction we have read and made into movies, we simply would not know how to behave properly if we knew there really, truly are other intelligent beings out there. We would, as a species, "panic." Hogswallop, as Hagrid would say. I do not believe there needs to be a reason for a government to decide to do something. It could be nothing more rational than a policy adopted way too long ago which has not been re-evaluated since, because that's the way bureaucrats work. We have literally no way to know, at this time, whether there have been facts suppressed by the government under a "national security" rubric, or whether there is a sufficiently strong underground to disseminate such facts anyway. Because there is the dissemination of lots of information, but without the cooperation of government sources, we cannot tell whether the facts presented are true or not. Like with other government cover-ups, the fact that there is a cover-up must also be covered up, and they get so tangled it hardly seems worthwhile. This leads me to be somewhat skeptical of the theories that the government has actually succeeded in a major cover-up of any sort. Attempted, I would easily believe.

Best Answer If the UFO is a piece of crashed satellite or something like a top secret balloon train used for atmospheric spying, the government will want to gather it up and spirit it off to their facilities, like they did in Roswell. If you are referring to a crashed alien ship, there is no precedent for this. It has never happened. But you can be sure they would want to get local citizens out of the area as quickly as possible, for their protection, since there is no way to assess the possible risk. Self-appointed UFO/ET "investigators" like Barbara Moulton Howe, *might* be allowed access to the press area. I have always wondered just what people would be assigned to something like this. It would be interesting to find out. Local authorities would be the first and I'm sure they would just want to keep people away. Best Answer Any good camera will work. A telephoto lens would be a good idea. Now all you have to do is keep that gear with you and ready to use on 2 seconds notice, 24/7 for the rest of your life. Because UFOs are REALLY rare. Most people have never ever seen one and people who have seen one hardly ever see two or see the same once more than once. In almost all cases where the UFO is seen by many people and seen more than once and photographed it can me identified as a regular thing, like a star or airplane. Then it isn't a UFO any more. You could take a group of die hard believers into Dreamland, or Area 51 if you prefer and show them the truth, but they would just say the government moved the evidence before they arrived there. Best Answer Remove all your RAM modules, and then put them back in. Make sure they're not damaged. Your power supply could be another possible issue, but RAM is easy to test. When your RAM is damaged, your computer will usually power on, but not do anything. Also, if anything on the computer was fried it cause this, like if the hard drive was fried, or the cpu was too overclocked. Try removing the internal battery of the computer for 5 minutes (one of those quarter looking batteries), then put it back in and retry booting the computer.

Best Answer Don't listen to these guys. There have been plenty of UFO's. Remember that stands for Unidentifed Flying Object. That doesn't neccesarily mean an alien space ship. It might mean a new type of plane or missile that has been photographed and nobody knows quite what it is. But is it of alien origin? No. Just unexplained. There's quite a few. Mostly they eventually become known. But not all.

Best Answer sort of, a weather balloon snagged santa's sled and caused a crash where all the parts got mixed up, confusing the USAF. by the time they got it unmixed, christmas was over. the news hid the fact that no kids got presents, the 2nd in command santa took over the next year. the santa body, burned up deer (yeah, they didn't tell us that did they?), the sleigh, the broken beer bottles (Yeah, he was drinking), and the stripper he had picked up, are all at area 52, the highest top secret hanger...i know where, but under orders to never tell.

Hey I'm 13 so i didn't really learn much about either of these, but I read up that in July of 1947 alien corpses and debris of a flying saucer were found in Roswell, New Mexico. WW2 ended in 1945, which leaves only a 2 year gap between the incidences. Do you think they could somehow be linked?

The US government played on this role and used this as a cover up for the top secret technology they were testing at the time. I know this because I have a friend who flies to Area 51 every day. He told me that to this day the government is testing out top secret technology. However it would be ignorant NOT to believe in other life forms within the universe.
